RESUMO
The Iberoamerican Academy of Pediatric Neurology (AINP) started in 1992, in Avila (Spain) and was foundated by a group of pediatrics neurologists who organized three post graduate courses in pediatrics neurology, Miami, Margarita and Cancun, with excelents results, because these reason the AINP has growing, fasted its dramatic success has been mostly due to that group of people who love and build unconditionally with their only goal being the satisfaction of knowing that children with neurological disorders will eventually benefit from their work. In this article we wrote about the history of AINP since 1992, and the reason to foundated. The AINP has growing fasted, and we think that it will be very important in the development of pediatrics neurology in Iberoamerica in different ways like neurology education and the training of the young physician.

Introducción. La Academia Iberoamericana de Neurología Pediátrica (AINP) se inicia legalmente en el año 1992 en Ávila (España), fundada por un grupo de neurólogos pediatras iberoamericanos que habían realizado tres cursos de posgrado en neurología pediátrica en Miami, Margarita y Cancún. Estos cursos fueron exitosos, no sólo en establecer vínculos de amistad, afecto y respeto, sino en intercambiar conocimientos a fin de unificar y mejorar el tratamiento de los niños con enfermedades del sistema nervioso central. Objetivos. Se describen los orígenes, legalización e historia de la organización en sus 10 años de trabajo, destacando el motivo que llevó a su fundación y su posterior evolución. Creemos que conocer nuestra historia y procedencia es vital para el desarrollo de los países e instituciones a las cuales pertenecemos. Conclusiones. La AINP ha crecido vertiginosamente y desempeña un importante papel en el desarrollo de la neurología pediátrica iberoamericana en varios aspectos: en primer lugar, en educación médica continua, con nuestros congresos anuales, y en segundo lugar, en la implementación de entrenamiento de médicos jóvenes en cursos de posgrado completos o en actualizaciones parciales de médicos que estén cursando en su país de origen entrenamiento en neurología pediátrica. En todos los países de Iberoamérica debe intentarse que la especialidad de neurología pediátrica sea reconocida por los diferentes gobiernos (AU)
